Great turnout for Ombudsman visit to Waterford

The Ombudsman Peter Tyndall hosted a seminar in The Tower Hotel, Waterford on Friday entitled ‘Learning from Waterford’s complaints’. The seminar was attended by local public representatives and senior officials from public service providers. The Ombudsman spoke about how complaints can be used to improve public services.

The seminar was a culmination of two days of events in Waterford. On Thursday staff from the office held a 'complaints clinic' at the Tower Hotel as part of the Ombudsman Outreach program. They were kept busy with 61 complaints from members of the public. Staff from the office also held an information session on the role of the Ombudsman for the local Citizens Information Centres.
