Public Consultation on the Office of the Ombudsman Strategy Statement 2022 -2024

Please Note: The Public Consultation process on the development of our Statement of Strategy is now closed. Thanks to all who provided a submission to the Ombudsman.

Introduction:

The Office of the Ombudsman (the Office) provides resources and shared services to the statutory bodies listed below.

  • The Office of the Information Commissioner
  • The Office of the Commissioner for Environmental Information
  • The Commission for Public Service Appointments
  • A Referendum Commission (once established)
  • The Standards in Public Office Commission

It is proposed that the Office will also be providing resources and shared services to a Protected Disclosures Office which is due to be established by the end of 2021.

The Office is currently developing its Statement of Strategy for the period 2022-2024.  This Statement of Strategy relates to the work of each of the individual offices above with the exception of the Standards in Public Office Commission which intends to produce its own strategy statement.  A reference to “the Office” includes any or all of the separate offices above.

This new Statement of Strategy will serve as a framework for our work during the next three years.  Delivery of our strategy will be through our annual business plans, which set out the actions we take to achieve our higher aims.
